Circle of
love
The seven-point program of the CIRCLE OF LOVE
is bound together by the LOVE of Christ.
The seven points indicate the needs of the Church and the community that are best served by the members of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
To be effective in doing the good work we are called to do, we must aspire to fully live out the part of our Act of Consecration we made in our installation Ceremony upon joining CDA: to be "Jesus's hands and feet." Not just serving our own interests, we seek out those who are suffering and in need within our own community and without. Then we use our God-given talents and gifts to volunteer our time and our treasure where needed.

spiritual enchancement
Our Court is active in both district and court-sponsored retreats for our members and the wider parish community of women. We support seminarians and those discerning religious vocations with gift bags and prayers. We encourage novenas and Mary's Mantle, lead Rosaries and Rose Ceremonies for deceased members, offer annual Memorial Mass for deceased members of CDA and the Knights of Columbus, participate in the State Memorial Scholarship Fund and encourage Mass intentions through Mass cards.
LEADERSHIP
Our court pulls together the wider Alvin community to raise money with our annual Garage Sale, Denim & Diamonds dance, Bunco events, and Bake Sale. We encourage participation in our local contests, membership drives, and State and National conventions as delegates and workshop speakers. We also take the lead by hosting retreats!
JCDA/youth
We are excited to be working to establish a new JCDA Court among our daughters and granddaughters! Our Court also offers yearly scholarships for high school seniors and homeschooling families, an education contest, sponsors meals for youth events, promotes retreats and conferences, and is involved with PLAT (Promoting Literacy Across Texas).
EDUCATION
Our members advocate for local members' families and the wider community to apply for education contests at all levels: local, state, and national CDA. We also sponsor yearly local scholarships for high school seniors and homeschooling families.
legislation
Our Court participates at the State legislative level in Pro-Life Austin. Locally, we encourage parishioners to support legislation against exploitation with White Ribbons Against Pornography. And we host a Life Chain event in October to peacefully stand for the most vulnerable.
FAMILY
Our court works a community garden; donates and works the Funnel Cake booth at the parish bazaar; participates in CARE Committee visits with meals and birthday parties for the homebound; Cheer committee sends uplifting cards to members; feeds the masses at Brain Fair; provides THOUSANDS of home-cooked meals for Fill-the-Bowl ministry; sponsors WRAP (White Ribbon Against Pornography) for the parish; leads Rosary and sponsors Rose Ceremony for deceased members; hosts community-wide Bunco events; and offers retreats for members and their families
quality of life
We support several local nonprofits, Make a Difference Day projects, provide meals at Gathering Place (which offers respite for caregivers) and at Brain Fair. We lead Rosaries for the deceased and for Respect Life month at grotto. We donate to charities such as Casa Juan Diego, Women's shelter of Brazoria County, Texas Hope, Archangels of Texas, and more! We spearhead a Baby Bottle campaign to gather donations for Her Heart Pregnancy Center and host a baby shower for the mothers, too.
